The researchers of our project succeeded with application for computer time in 10th Open Access Grant Competition at IT4Inovation. They received 1 468 000 core hours for the project Computer modelling of martensitic transformations in Ni-Mn-Ga system, which can be used at IT4I supercomputers Salomon (24 192 cores) and Anselm (3 344 cores). The main goal of the project is used ab initio calculations to reveal transformation paths between high temperature phase austenite and different low temperature martensitic phases in Ni2MnGa alloy. Proper understanding of martensitic transformation is necessary for preparation alloy with desired crystal structure.

The MATFUN project will use supercomputer at IT4Inovation
